The most important part of psychic growth in the beginning stages of study is to be consistent. At various times our gift will wax and wane, or we have more or less time to study. A consistent practice overall is key. If you know have only 5 minutes a day, that is enough to get off to a good start. Ideally, you should have a minimum practice each day to sustain clarity and balance regardless of how long you have been actively working on your intuitive development.
5 minute mediation:
Sit with your eyes closed. Focus on your breathing and allow yourself to breathe fully but do not force your inhale or exhale. Let your awareness of yourself become heightened. Become more in tune to your inner world. Breathe and be aware of your experience in that moment, and then the next moment, without judgement. Become aware again how you feel. Before opening your eyes, connect with the sensation of the physical plane once again. Breathe a few times, and slowly come out of mediation.
You can try to expand this and before finishing, add a sphere of light like a net around your aura to visualize the edge of your aura. See yourself sitting inside. Allow positive things to enter and negative things to remain outside or touch the surface but fall off. Stay in your center. Practice staying in your center no matter what energies you face. Life throws us many ups and downs, and difficult people and situations at times too. Keep yourself in the center to stay energetically aware and able to navigate changes, challenges and ready to accept positive energy as well.
This is a great meditation to do daily when starting to grow psychic ability. It is also helpful if you are dealing with a lot of new people or energies regularly, to help you stay centered.
