Let’s begin by considering that linear time is all well and good when you have a bus to catch but utterly worthless in terms of TRUTH.
We continue to strive to comprehend the concept of “consciousness.” Quantum physics proved that a particle can be conscious in two places simultaneously. Padre Pio and Don Bosco, among others, were saints who regularly demonstrated this ability. Scientists call is bi-location. In the same way, people come in with heightened sensitivities like synesthesia or lucid dreaming…How is this possible? I am constantly impressed at how well the “average” person can sing or paint without lessons and leading their lives at a desk job without the opportunity to share their gifts. Each of us can be so much more…
Spiritual teachers grapple with the question of consciousness…Jesus is the only teacher who ascended and was resurrected from the dead. What was Jesus referring to in John 16:12 when he said, “I still have many things to say to you but you cannot bear them now.” Could he have meant that he was about to suffer agony on the cross? Was he referring to his impending Resurrection and Ascension? Did he want to share more about the concept that the kingdom of heaven is here in the midst of us now? Did he hold off explaining how he performed miracles because it was beyond their comprehension? And do we really understand what he meant by “The Spirit of Truth will guide you into all truth?” We can only guess as we grow in faith today.
Similarly, Sri Baba said, “When you practice the techniques taught in the text you will come to a stage where your mind is no more limited to the brain but is multidimensional.” It goes without saying these quotes are subject to many interpretations. We live in the NOW. The past is unfolding at this very moment and is NOT nonexistent. In fact we are still playing out our role in the past. The future exists NOW and we are participating in it as well. We are often experiencing multidimensional realities in our dreams and in our waking lives as well.
My work as a Past Life Regression facilitator and my many conversations with Dr. Brian Weiss, author of “Many Lives, Many Masters” lead me to conclude that we have much to learn from other dimensions to heal and balance our experience today. This work is healing on many levels.
The popular notion that participating as a client in past life regression work is scary or traumatizing is understandable and ignorant. As a therapist, I often encounter strong emotions in my clients as they relive traumatic experiences from past lives. And I suggest that they “rise above” the scene and look on it from above to witness the events but remain objective and balanced in their emotions. The lessons from these memories are vital to their recovery and not to be avoided. And in the same way, the truth need not be unbearable. They are able to “move ahead” in a past life to their own death. They are able to comment on the lifetime and articulate the high points and most challenging experiences and gracefully answer the question “What were a few lessons you learned from this lifetime?” The lessons remain with us to assist us in becoming more patient, tolerant and loving as a soul being.
To conclude, let’s remember that the body exists inside the soul and is timeless.
